THREE AND 1/2 STARS

From those movies in the series Hostel, passing through his own character in Inglorious Bastards, Eli Roth, Tarantino’s sidekick, has us a little baffled: does he believe what he says? Is the horror gore that usually appears – although not always – in his films a parody gesture?

In this movie where there is a serial killer inspired by the Thanksgiving Day (that’s what the movie should be called, but it’s a holiday that we don’t have – yet) it seems that Roth definitely establishes a kind of theory about how unbridled horror is nothing more than crazy humor where not even the body is the limit .

As if the madness of the Three Stooges In the realm of generous hemoglobin, there is nothing to do here: we already know the murderer is a joke and, although there are massacres and screams, everything else goes the same way: seeing is not believing. In that sense, this evisceration not of a body but of gender is fun and interesting, although his project does not go beyond a visceral modesty.
