The image of a dream car for Americans was drawn by experts from the Compare.com auto insurer search platform. The result surprised. Not a Ferrari, not a Lamborghini. neither Bugatti was included in the dream-car list. Americans preferred crossovers to supercars.
SUV crossovers (“sport utility vehicle”) scored 30 percent of the votes of Americans aged 18 to 80. SUVs have been top sellers for many years. By 2025, they will account for up to 78% of sales.
And if in Russia white cars are sold the most, since this color is basic and you don’t have to pay extra for it, then Americans dream of black cars. Americans surveyed named the most desirable car black crossover from BMW. Such a choice would be made by families with children. Long travel lovers dreaming of a blue Audi coupe. City dwellers in North America would also opt for a BMW. But for them, the dream is a Bavarian in white and in a sedan.
BMW has become the most coveted brand in the US. It was named by 25% of the respondents. At the same time, good handling, durability and high-quality interior trim are in the top three important characteristics for citizens of the United States of America. Huge nostrils on the radiator grill of the new Bavarian models do not bother the Americans. The exterior, that is, the appearance of the car, even in their dreams, is only in seventh place in their priorities.
The main requirements for women drivers are comfort and safety. They rated these two categories much higher than men.
Americans, however, cannot be accused of unpatriotism. Residents of the countryside, that same one-story America, chose red Chevrolet pickup. This brought the brand to fourth place in the list of American dream cars.
After BMW, Americans most of all dream of a domestic Ford. But here dreams diverge from reality: Americans dream of a Ford, and most often they buy a Japanese Toyota. In third place top-dream – Audi. And only 11% of Americans want to have high-tech Tesla electric car, the control of which can be entrusted to the autopilot. How do you like that Elon Musk?
