Bjorn Kroesen (20) from Erica is very clear about it. He wants to become the best bodybuilder in the world. “I really enjoy getting the most out of myself.”

After years of pumping in the gym, Bjorn’s efforts were recently rewarded. During De Krachtig Fit Cub, a bodybuilding competition in Hoogeveen, he came first among the juniors. He won no fewer than three medals. “That was a very nice experience.”

During such a competition, Bjorn trains completely dry. He grows as much muscle as possible and retains as little fat as possible. “I eat six large meals a day. And then a protein shake. That gives me 4,500 calories.”

On competition day he ensures that he only has four percent fat left. But that is not very healthy, he says. “It’s just a very extreme sport. But after a competition like that, I make sure I get back to ten percent fat.”

Before he can actually become world champion, he still has to train for a while. “That will take at least ten years.”
