Björk begins her new album in 2024 & confirms “Cornucopia” film

After the “Cornucopia” tour ends, the Icelandic singer wants to start her new work in 2024.

Björk has been traveling the world with her “Cornucopia” show since 2019, complete with extravagant costumes and a spectacularly elaborate stage set. After having to pause the concert and theater production due to the pandemic, the Icelandic artist will perform the performance one last time in December 2023. Now Björk not only talks about the “most ambitious project” she has ever traveled with, but also about her ambitious plans for the new year.

The singer explains to the US ROLLING STONE that “Cornucopia” was “a strange project” due to the Covid delay. “We played New York in May 2019 and then California in January 2022. The thing is, it’s so difficult to travel with it. It is the most ambitious project I have ever traveled with. We have about 24 rotating curtains,” says Björk about her elaborate stage show.

Despite the exhausting long-term project, the musician hardly seems to be allowing herself any vacation after her tour ends in December 2023. Next year, the 57-year-old, whose full name is Björk Guðmundsdóttir, not only wants to start writing a new album, she also wants to bring a “Cornucopia” film to the cinema. However, it is not yet known when the work will appear.

Björk’s current album FOSSORA was released in September 2022 and included, among other things, the song “Victimhood”, which was complemented by an animated music video a year later. The single “Oral” was also released in October, for which Björk teamed up with the Spanish singer Rosalía to make a statement against fish farming in Iceland.
