Mathieu Hermans (59) won a total of nine stages in the Tour of Spain, six of which in one Vuelta. The former rider from Dongen is therefore not called the Spanish Brabander for nothing. His most beautiful victory was in 1988 in the stage from Valencia to Albacete. The sprinter fell in the last kilometer, got back up and took the win after all.
