Bitter news from Jamal Musiala

Bitter news for national coach Hansi Flick: The German national soccer team has to play the groundbreaking international matches against Japan and France without Jamal Musiala from FC Bayern.

As the German record champions announced on Thursday, the 20-year-old offensive player had to cancel his trip due to back problems. There will be no subsequent nomination. The DFB confirmed this in response to a “SID” request.

Musiala was actually supposed to arrive in Wolfsburg on Thursday evening after recovering from a torn muscle fiber. There it will be against World Cup shock Japan on Saturday (8.45 p.m./RTL).

Instead, according to the “Abendzeitung”, Musiala took part in a relaxed running session on Säbener Straße on Thursday morning together with his Munich teammate Raphael Guerreiro, who was also recently sidelined with a muscle injury.

At least: Musiala was able to complete the unit without any major restrictions.

This is bad news for Flick, as Niclas Füllkrug had to leave on Wednesday due to thigh problems. Thomas Müller was nominated for BVB’s new signing.

Fateful games for Hansi Flick in the national team?

The duels with Japan and France on Tuesday (9 p.m./ARD) in Dortmund are immensely important for Flick. After the World Cup disgrace in Qatar and some frightening performances afterwards, the chair of the former head coach of FC Bayern is shaking.

Possible successors are also already being traded. “Sport Bild” brought former Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann and Oliver Glasner into conversation. The Austrian worked successfully at Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of last season.

Matthias Sammer should also be an option for the DFB in the event of Flick’s dismissal, possibly as a temporary solution until the European Championships. The former DFB sports director is currently working as a board advisor at BVB.

According to his own statement, Flick is currently not concerned with a possible exit. That would be “not a good guide,” said the 58-year-old in an interview with the “RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland”.
