Gorilla offspring Tilla turned two on Wednesday.

In the morning, the animal keepers of the Berlin zoo made a three-tier cake made of raw vegetables, zucchini and carrot cake for Tilla and her family, the zoo announced on Wednesday. The 25-year-old gorilla mom Bibi also enjoyed the sweet birthday surprise.

Tilla is the offspring of Bibi and 18-year-old Sango. The young animal is one of a total of six conspecifics in the Berlin Zoo. Also among them: gorilla lady Fatou. At 65, she is considered the oldest gorilla in the world.

The zoo is currently collecting donations for a new ape house in which the animals will have more space.

“The current husbandry conditions no longer meet our requirements,” said zoo and animal park director Andreas Knieriem, according to the announcement.
