Bird flu was diagnosed on Wednesday at a poultry farm with broilers and chickens in Uden. All 46,000 animals are culled.
There is another poultry farm within a circle of one kilometer from the affected farm. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) will closely monitor this company for two weeks for symptoms that may indicate bird flu.
Screening and samples
Further on, in a zone of three kilometers, there are five poultry farms. These are also screened and samples will be taken. There are 82 other poultry farms in the 10-kilometre zone of the poultry farm in Uden, including a poultry slaughterhouse.
There is a transport ban on all birds and eggs from the company. Bird manure may also not be transported. This also applies to used litter and to other animals and animal products from poultry farms.
Hunting ban
It is also no longer allowed to hunt ducks in a 10-kilometre zone around the company or in areas where this could disturb waterfowl.
At the end of October, bird flu appeared at a poultry farm in Neerkant. To prevent spreading, 25,000 laying hens were culled.
National confinement obligation
Due to the growing number of bird flu cases, a national obligation to keep poultry and other bird species has been in force since 5 October.
