In Vriezenveen (municipality of Twenterand, province of Overijssel) bird flu was diagnosed at a hobby holder. It is probably a highly pathogenic variant. In order to prevent the virus from spreading, the total of approximately 150 ornamental water birds and chickens are culled by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). It concerns a location of the same hobby holder where bird flu was diagnosed on September 15, 2022.
