Bird flu diagnosed: birds culled at company in Pervijze

The Paradijshof sells farm animals including ducks, peacocks and ornamental chickens. The business managers, a young couple, noticed some dead birds on Monday. After investigation it turns out to be bird flu.

For the owners, the outbreak of the bird virus is a financial disaster. Some ornamental chickens cost up to 500 euros each. Within a radius of 3 km around Het Paradijshof, all birds must now be caged or protected with nets.
