Bird flu at company in Dalfsen, tens of thousands of ducks culled

Bird flu has been diagnosed at a beef duck farm in Dalfsen, Overijssel. To prevent spread, the approximately 88,000 ducks are culled.

Six other companies within 3 kilometers are being investigated to see if there is also bird flu there. In a zone of 10 kilometers there are 26 other poultry farms “to which the transport ban applies immediately”.

The infected company is located in a region where the confinement obligation was lifted on June 28. In the 10 km area around the infected location, on the basis of the area regulation, a confinement and screening obligation is again in force, but this does not apply to the entire region.
