Bijou Brigitte remains on course for growth and confirms annual forecasts

The Hamburg fashion jewelry chain Bijou Brigitte mode Accessoires AG achieved a solid increase in sales in the first nine months of the current 2023 financial year. In light of the latest developments, the retailer confirmed its annual forecasts in an ad hoc announcement published on Wednesday.

According to preliminary figures, group sales in the period from January to September reached 239.2 million euros, exceeding the previous year’s level by 8.7 percent. “With this pleasing business development, Bijou Brigitte has managed to almost match the sales level of the pre-Corona year 2019 with a significantly reduced branch network,” explained the company. At the end of September, the retail chain said it had 899 stores.

The current results did not give management any reason to change the annual forecasts published in the spring. For 2023, the company continues to expect sales of between 320.0 and 340.0 million euros and earnings before income taxes in the range of 38.0 to 54.0 million euros. The prerequisite, however, is that “there are no further major economic or geopolitical upheavals over the course of the year,” the company explained. In addition, the sales development in the upcoming Christmas business will be of “crucial importance”.
