The Hamburg-based fashion jewelery chain Bijou Brigitte Modest Accessoires AG generated sales of EUR 220.1 million in the first three quarters of the current 2022 financial year. The company said on Friday, citing preliminary figures, that the corresponding prior-year level was exceeded by 52.2 percent. The strong growth is “also due to the lockdown phase in Germany in the same period of 2021,” the retailer said.
The end of the pandemic-related restrictions was particularly noticeable in the first half of the year: sales in the months from January to June were more than twice as high as in the same period of the previous year. At the beginning of September, the company had raised its forecasts for 2022 as a whole, despite numerous economic and geopolitical risks. It now expects sales of between EUR 280 and 300 million and earnings before taxes of between EUR 20.0 and 35.0 million.
