The Hamburg-based fashion jewelery supplier Bijou Brigitte Modest Accessoires AG returned to growth in the 2021 financial year. According to preliminary figures, sales last year were 216 million euros and thus 5.4 percent above the level of 2020, the company announced on Thursday. The retailer emphasized that the growth was achieved “despite the lockdown lasting several months” and a reduction in the branch network. At the end of December, Bijou Brigitte had a total of 926 stores, 64 fewer than at the beginning of the financial year.
The company said it would release its full 2021 results and dividend proposal “in the second half of March.” In the previous year, which was marked by the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, Bijou Brigitte had to accept a net loss of almost 31 million euros and waived a dividend.
