The Hamburg-based fashion jewelery supplier Bijou Brigitte Modest Accessoires AG closed the first half of the 2022 financial year with a significant increase in sales. On Tuesday, the company announced, citing preliminary figures, that revenues in the first six months amounted to 131.4 million euros. They were thus more than twice as high as in the same period of the previous year, when they were EUR 63.5 million (+107.0 percent).
The jump in sales was “mainly due to the pandemic-related lockdown in the first quarter of the same period last year,” the company explained in a statement and announced that it had reduced its branch network by 21 locations since the beginning of the year. The retailer intends to present its full annual report for the first half of the year in September.
