‘Biggest RTL 4 flop in fifteen years’

After a very short revival, the Marieke Elsinga flop Alles is Muziek is completely back to square one. According to Tina Nijkamp, her show is the biggest RTL 4 failure in fifteen years.

It is incredibly embarrassing that RTL 4 keeps Marieke Elsinga’s program on the tube. After the premiere of Alles is Muziek, which was viewed by 569,000 people, in which Irene Moors could be seen rammed into a shuffleboard like a fool, only 269,000 (!) people watched the following week. It was reason for the channel to intervene immediately.

Biggest flop

RTL 4 decided to shorten the program considerably and last week there was a short-lived revival with a score of 365 thousand viewers, which is still poor. Last night, Alles is Muziek dropped to 271 thousand viewers (7 percent), which means that the program is completely back to square one.

Rating shaman Tina Nijkamp is in shock. “This is only 2,000 viewers more than the long version. Ouch. Even Gordon scored a lot more on SBS6 with Wat een Invention. Only 10.5 percent in the commercial target group aged 20 to 54. With these figures, Alles is Muziek is unfortunately definitively the biggest flop of the past 15 years for RTL 4.”

Still from the tube?

Tina wonders whether RTL 4 is now choosing eggs for its money and still taking the program off the tube. “The question is: will the series be shortened, so fewer episodes? Otherwise, the viewer has another five weeks to do this. Very curious.”

Alles is Muziek was immediately after the 958 thousand viewers (22 percent) watched Make Up Your Mind. Only NPO 1’s Even Tot Hier attracted more viewers in prime time, and not just a little: 1.7 million (38 percent).

Gordon disappoints

The Gordon show Wat Een Invention started with 483 thousand viewers (11.5 percent) on SBS 6. According to Tina, this does not earn him whipped cream pie. “Not a flashy start for a program that has been promoted so much. Although the score in 20 to 54 years for SBS6 is still reasonable: 13.4 percent.”

She continues: “It also scores slightly higher than Hart van Nederland (467 thousand) and therefore also than direct competitor Alles is Muziek. But that’s not that hard. (…) Very exciting how well it’s going to be viewed deferred and linear next week. Can go either way.”
