SEW won the handball derby against Volendam tonight with 35-22. In the De Westfrieslandhal sports hall, the home team quickly took a large lead and did not encounter any problems after that. After two rounds, SEW has four points and Volendam is still scoreless.
It took a while before the first goal was scored. Only after about three minutes did Denise Mol give SEW the lead. After that, the difference between the two teams quickly increased. Halfway through the scoreboard was 20-10 and that was mainly thanks to Mol. She found the net five times in the first half and scored twice more after the break.
Consternation
After the interruption, SEW took it a bit easier and Volendam did not manage to get closer to the West Frisian team. The only excitement in the warm hall in the second half was the consternation about the score.

Arousal
A few times a goal from SEW went to the visitors, causing excitement in the stands. In the end the scoreboard read 35-22, but the supporters were convinced that the score had become 36-20. SEW trainer Michael Vijverberg was not too concerned about it. The referees took over the score from the scoreboard.
Next week an interesting test case for the still undefeated SEW. Then the handball players from Nibbixwoud will visit title favorite Venlo. Volendam plays against Quintus at home.
