14,700 tickets have already been sold for the Bundesliga top match between the soccer players from VfL Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.
“I think it’s really great at this point in time,” said Ralf Kellermann, sporting director in Wolfsburg, on Monday. He could imagine that many viewers would want to take the opportunity “to watch twelve to 15 German national players. That’s a result of the European Championship.”
This week, the advertising for the game between the champion and the second from the previous season should be increased again.
The game on Sunday (2:00 p.m. BR and MagentaSport) will take place in the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg, where the VfL men usually play their home games.
According to Kellermann, such highlight games could also take place in the big stadium in the Champions League starting on Wednesday from the quarter-finals. For the three games in the group phase, however, this is not yet an issue for VfL.
