Big defeat KZ, Green Yellow and Blue-White also scoreless

It was a bad day for the North Holland teams in the Korfbal League. KZ had to swallow a big defeat against title candidate PKC. Groen Geel was unable to continue the start of the relegation group against KCC. Blauw-Wit was able to make it difficult for Oost-Arnhem for a long time, but also lost.

KZ played a lost match against PKC from the start. The candidate for the title in the Korfball League was ahead 1-7 within seven minutes. This lead was extended to 4-11. At halftime the margin was larger: 8-16.

In the second half, PKC calmly continued to score and after nine minutes it was 10-22. The victory was never in danger and it ended in 18-28. The defeat makes it a difficult story for the Zaankanters to qualify for the final of the Korfbal League.

Relegation Pool

The other team from the Zaanstreek, Groen Geel, narrowly lost the second game in the relegation pool to KCC. Within ten minutes, the home team made it 6-2, but the team from Wormer fought back to 8-8. Nevertheless, it was 10-9 at halftime.

After the break it remained tense and the game waved back and forth from 12-12 to 15-15. In the final phase, a small lead was created by two hits from Demi van Oosten. Green Yellow couldn’t get over this blow: 17-16.

Blue White

The Amsterdam korfball players also played an exciting game, because after fifteen minutes it was 5-5. Oost-Arnhem then left a gap (5-9). It was 8-12 at halftime.

The visitors ran out to 10-15, after which Blauw-Wit came back to 15-17. It remained exciting until 19-21, but Oost-Arnhem took the win: 20-23.
