big alarm! Burned down workshop in Spandau industrial park

Big fire in a commercial area! A workshop for plant and district heating technology burned down to the ground.

A patrol car crew noticed smoke rising from the “KMR Anlagentechnik” building on Neuendorfer Strasse on Monday afternoon and alerted the fire brigade at around 3:45 p.m.

The emergency services moved in with a large contingent. “There was a lot of smoke,” said a fire department spokesman. The police blocked surrounding streets.

The smoke also moved to the nearby Vivantes Klinikum Spandau. At times, the operations management even had to consider evacuating the hospital. Luckily that wasn’t necessary. The hospital just closed all the windows.

The fire brigade was busy extinguishing the 250 square meter complex for hours.
