Bielefeld’s dependence on FC Bayern “is crap”

After the decisive low blow in the Bundesliga relegation battle, Arminia Bielefeld looks to Munich.

“Now we are dependent on FC Bayern winning their game,” said coach Marco Kostmann after Friday’s 2-1 draw at VfL Bochum: “Then we still have a chance.”

Only if Bayern, who were already champions and flew to Ibiza at the beginning of the week, won against VfB Stuttgart on Sunday (5:30 p.m. / DAZN) would East Westphalia still have a chance of being relegated. Then they could possibly overtake the Swabians with a three at the end against RB Leipzig. “But dependency sucks,” said Kostmann.

His Bielefeld side are ten games in a row without a win for the second time this season. The eighth relegation from the Bundesliga would already be certain on Sunday if Stuttgart won in Munich.
