Bieke makes a picture book about emotions
Fear is the first emotion that is discussed. Lukje, the main character, helps his readers understand how to deal with the emotion in the picture book. In addition to a book, Bieke also made an emotion box with all kinds of material that schools and child therapists can use, among others. This can all be viewed via this link.
AUTISM
With the book and didactic material, Bieke also wants to help children who have autism, and there is a very special reason behind this: “A few years ago I suffered a burnout. During my treatment and recovery period I was diagnosed with autism. With my picture book I started to express my emotions creatively, both by drawing and with ceramics,” says Mieke, “I realized more and more that emotions are allowed, despite their intensity. That gave me a lot of insight. story and it took shape.”
The picture book ‘Lukje en Bang’ helped Bieke in her own words enormously in the recovery process, and now hopes to help children express and understand emotions.
