“Those who claim to love America have given way too much oxygen to the fear and hatred,” Biden said. “I condemn those who use and spread the lie of white supremacy for political gain or monetary gain.”
Biden and his wife had recently laid flowers at the neighborhood supermarket where the fatal shooting took place on Saturday. They then met with relatives, aid workers, police and local politicians.
Ten black customers were killed in the attack. Three others, including one black American, were injured.
The man had traveled more than 300 miles and broadcast his journey live on the Twitch platform. According to US media, he had drafted a 180-page manifesto brimming with racist conspiracy theories, such as the repopulation theory.
