Bicycle streets in the center of Ingelmunster

Motorists are not allowed to overtake cyclists in the bicycle streets and they are also not allowed to drive faster than 30 kilometers per hour. As a result, traffic in the center of Ingelmunster and in the station area will be completely tailored to cyclists. In fact, the residents themselves were asking questions. Ingelmunster hopes that thanks to the cycling zones, even more residents will get on their bikes.

“It is also not the case that we are banning the car,” says alderman of mobility Trui Lambrecht. “But we want people to think a little more before they get into the car. That it might also be possible to cycle to school with the children and drop them off there by bike.”
