Defending champion Emilien Jacquelin will not start in the pursuit over 12.5 km at the Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof on Sunday (3:30 p.m. / ZDF and Eurosport).
“In agreement with the staff, Emilien Jacquelin will not start in the pursuit,” said the French team on Sunday evening.
Jacquelin had won gold in the pursuit in 2020 and 2021. In the sprint on Saturday he only ended up in 36th place after four shooting errors and would therefore not have had a realistic chance of a good placement on Sunday.
He then continues on Tuesday (2:30 p.m.) with the individual over 20 kilometers.
