From the German point of view, all eyes were on Denise Herrmann in the mass start. But the Olympic champion had problems at the shooting range early on. But another one shone.
Franziska Preuss finished second in the mass start in Oslo. The German only had two penalties and was only behind the French Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. Third was the Norwegian Marte Olsbu Röiseland. Fourth and fifth place went to the Swedes Linn Persson and Elvira Öberg.
From a German point of view, the other placements were also pleasing: With Denise Herrmann (7th), Janina Hettich (9th) and Vanessa Voigt (10th), three other DSV women also made it into the top ten. Franziska Hildebrand finished the race in 15th place.
For Preuss it was a nice conclusion after a difficult season. Since the end of 2021 she has been absent again and again with foot problems and a corona infection. So she was far from her best form at the Olympic Games. In Oslo she was able to show what she is capable of.
