Biathlon: Preuss storms in the last mass start in second place – biathlon – winter sports

Herrmann has to go into the round

At the first shooting almost half of the field remained flawless, including Preuss, Voigt, Hildebrand and Hettich. Only Herrmann of the DSV starters had to go into the penalty loop and was almost 30 seconds behind the leaders.

There, Marte Olsbu Röiseland picked up speed and tore a small hole to her pursuers, who, however, came back to the shooting range. At the second shooting, Hildebrand and Hettich remained flawless and fell ten seconds behind the leading quartet, which also included Öberg and Wierer. Preuss, Voigt and Herrmann went into the penalty loop again.

Hettich remains flawless

In the first standing stage, all German ski hunters put down their five targets and were now four in the top ten. Voigt was also within striking distance in 14th place. In the fight for the small crystal ball, Wierer was able to gain a small lead over Öberg, who had a penalty.

Hauser came into the last standing stage with a little over ten seconds left, but missed her last shot. But since all of the numerous following competitors also made a mistake, they were only 5.6 seconds behind the now leader Braisaz-Bouchet, who now suddenly had the best chance of getting the mass start ball herself. Hettich shot clean and was now third. But behind her came the large field with Preuss and ran past her.
