This is how the race goes
Since the women start today, there will be four 6K races in the mixed relay tie. It goes twice to the shooting range. There are three reloading cartridges available for each shooting unit. For each disc that is still there, there is a penalty loop of 150 meters.

The quartet from Austria
Even the Austrians are just starting out today as outsiders. Dunja Zdouc and Lisa Theresa Hauser run the women’s part there. David Komatz and Simon Eder were nominated for the men’s part.

What’s up for Switzerland?
Switzerland is experiencing a successful season this winter, especially among the men, and if the favorites slip up, then something should definitely be possible for the small skiing nation today. The season will open today with Elisa Gasparin. Lena Häcki-Groß was nominated for the second position. Sebastian Stalder starts the men’s part. Niklas Hartweg, as the strongest Swiss of the winter, should mark the end.

The German foursome
It’s been six years since the last German World Championship title in the mixed relay, and the last major events had to be watched while other nations donned the medals. Nevertheless, the chances in front of the home crowd for the DSV team are by no means small. Vanessa Voigt is scheduled to start today’s season. Denise Herrmann-Wick runs in second place, Benedikt Doll is the first man on the trail. Roman Rees concludes.

The favourites
This winter, a mixed relay has already been run on Pokljuka. France (Julia Simon, Anais Chevalier-Bouchet, Emilien Jacquelin and Quentin Fillon Maillet) were able to win there and are certainly one of the top favorites when it comes to gold today. Norway was only sixth in the only mixed relay of the winter so far. Nevertheless, Norway should be at the top of your list today, because unlike at the World Cup in Slovenia, the biathlon nation is sending its strongest team to the start today. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Marte Olsbu Røiseland, Sturla Holm Laegreid and Johannes Thingnes Bø make up the squadron. Sweden (Hanna Öberg, Elvira Öberg, Martin Ponsiluoma and Sebastian Smauelsson) and Italy (Lisa Vittozzi, Dorothea Wierer, Didier Bionaz and Tommaso Giacomel) also have chances.

World Championship result no longer in the overall World Cup
After an IBU decision before the season, we’re going into these World Championships with a small rule change. From this year, the results of the World Cup no longer count towards the overall ranking. This would like to emphasize the World Cup again. The prize money would also be increased.

The season highlight is in the starting blocks
It’s all set for the big highlight of the 2022/23 biathlon season: on the Rennsteig in Oberhof from February 8th to 19th, nine days of competition are all about a total of twelve sets of medals. The decision in the mixed relay will start today at 2:45 p.m.!
