The relay mode
All athletes have to cover a running distance of more than six kilometers over their section. In addition, the runners face the task at the shooting range once in a prone and standing position. There are three reloading cartridges per series available. For each disc that has still not fallen, 150 extra meters must be run in the penalty loop.

14:22
Perfect external conditions
As on the previous days, the athletes in Ruhpolding can once again enjoy the best winter weather. The sun is shining over the stadium with temperatures just below freezing point and the wind is almost irrelevant. In addition, the running circuit is not considered to be particularly demanding.
14:10
Who are the favourites?
Around three weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in Beijing, Lisa Theresa Hauser and other well-known figures are missing from the starting list. For the Swedes, Hanna and Elvira Öberg will miss the race and the Norwegian squad, apart from Marte Olsbu Røiseland, will also have three runners from the second row. In contrast, France, Belarus and Russia do not rest their athletes, but aim for victory with their respective best players.
13:58
Häcki back in the Swiss team
The Swiss team is also an insider tip at best. After all, Lena Häcki, who skipped the mixed relay in Oberhof last week, is returning to the squad as the final runner. The Swiss women’s best result this season was ninth place at the World Cup opener in Östersund.
1:47 p.m
ÖSV without Hauser
In any case, the quartet of the Austrian Ski Association would only have been the outsider in the fight for the top positions, now Lisa Theresa Hauser also skips the competition and the chances of the team continue to decrease. Julia Schwaiger, Katharina Innerhofer and Christina Rieder could not convince again in the sprint on Wednesday and all missed the pursuers of the 60 athletes. The ÖSV team will be completed by the inexperienced Anna Juppe, who will take to the track in third position.
13:39
DSV wants to attack
At the second home World Cup after Oberhof, the German Ski Association team is aiming for the first podium finish in the relay this winter. In fifth place in Östersund and fourth in Hochfilzen, the team has failed to achieve this goal twice so far. Today’s starting skier will be Vanessa Voigt, who should bite down in the front field thanks to her stable shooting. This is followed by Vanessa Hinz and the resurgent Franziska Hildebrand, before Denise Herrmann will take over the last part.
