Biathlon live: Hochfilzen 12.5km pursuit in the live ticker | 12/11/2022 2:15 PM

Johannes Thingnes Bø wins again!

Johannes Thingnes Bø has arrived on the home stretch and is driving lonely towards his next victory. Despite two shooting errors, this season’s dominator didn’t give his competitors the slightest chance and continues to extend his lead in the World Cup and the pursuit rankings. What an outstanding performance from the Norwegian.

14:48

Leitner well on the way

On the other hand, Felix Leitner is running towards a good result. He hits all 20 targets and makes up position after position. He goes into the final round as 12th. Can he hold this place?

14:46

Doll awards good result

Nothing will come of a good result for Benedikt Doll. In the first standing shooting, all targets fell over, in the second and last shooting two shots missed their target and Doll fell back to 20th place. He is still the best German. Justus Strelow is right behind him with a total of three shooting errors. After a messed up start, Strelow has recovered somewhat.

14:45

Hartweg really good at it

Something else is happening in the stands behind the podium. Fillon Maillet is working his way up to fourth place and behind him is Niklas Hartweg from Switzerland. What a good race! With just one shooting error, the shooting star works his way up from 22nd place to fifth place. It all looks like another top placement.

14:43

No changes in front

Sturla Holm Lægreid leaves the door open again for Frenchman Jacquelin. He has to run a penalty loop and so Jacquelin goes for all or nothing. He shoots quickly and also leaves a target. This changes nothing in the front. Sturla Holm Lægreid is second in 56 seconds, with Jacquelin heading into his final loop in 1:17.7.

14:41

Johannes Thingnes Bø about to win again

When the last ones have left the shooting range, the leader is already coming back. Johannes Thingnes Bø leaves the second disc and accepts a few extra meters. But that won’t change anything about his undisputed victory. His lead over his compatriot is just over a minute.

14:40

Good shooting from the Austrians

Things are going better for Austrian Felix Leitner. Not yet the fastest on the cross-country ski run, he once again achieved a perfect shooting result. The standing position is also unproblematic and so all cartridges find their target. The veteran Simon Eder is also making up place by place, as his shooting result has been perfect so far.

14:39

Five mistakes for Nawrath

Things are going very badly for Philipp Nawrath. So far, he hasn’t shot clean while standing. All goals remain and so the German shoots himself out after a great first half.

14:37

Doll in a Swiss sandwich

Benedikt Doll is now the best German. His standing shooting is also going according to plan. He is tenth in the Swiss duo. Niklas Hartweg is 20 seconds ahead of him, Sebastian Stadler a second behind him.

14:37

Finn sneaks forward

The Finn Seppala keeps working his way up the field. With 15 hits he is the new fourth and shows a really strong race.

14:36

Top 3 unchanged

Sturla Holm Lægreid had caught up a bit, but now he has a shot too. So his gained seconds are gone again early. What is Jacquelin doing? He can’t really catch up with the Norwegian because he also has a penalty. The top 3 remain unchanged.

14:35

Johannes Thingnes Bø remains in front

Johannes Thingnes Bø has arrived at the shooting range for the third time. For the first time, the targets can now be hit while standing. He stays calm, has two edge hits, but all targets go white. It goes on for the top favourite.

14:34

Broken stick at Dale

Johannes Dale was working his way up from tenth to fourth when his cane broke. He rides the broken cane for a long time before being handed a new one.

14:33

Mistakes now also with the Swiss

The Swiss Niklas Hartweg and Sebastian Stadler approach the competition almost in step. Both miss a target in the second prone shooting. Hartweg goes into the next lap almost two minutes behind, Stadler is 15 seconds behind his compatriot.

14:32

Leitner convinces at the shooting range

Felix Leitner also continues to do magic at the shooting range. The next five targets fall and so he can improve from rank 29 to rank 22.

14:30

Nawrath and Rees are shooting clean

Great performance by Philipp Nawrath, who hits all targets for the second time. Roman Rees also continues to make up places by converting all goals. Behind Benedikt Doll, who hit all the targets on the second try while lying down, he left the shooting range in 21st place.

14:29

Norwegians in pursuit

His teammate Sturla Holm Lægreid also cleaned and is now the closest pursuer, 26.7 seconds back. Frenchman Jacquelin shoots a penalty loop and has to lose some feathers. He starts his third lap with a deficit of 49 seconds. There is nothing far in front of him or far behind him.

14:28

Johannes Thingnes Bø has to run a lap

Meanwhile, Johannes Thingnes Bø flies around the loop and is already back for the second prone shooting. The first four cartridges sit, but then the last shot slips away from him. It became a mistake, but it looked as if he hadn’t even wanted to sell it yet. But even this mistake won’t cost him much of a lead.

14:26

Swiss with us

The two Swiss didn’t show any weaknesses on the shooting range, but they pulled themselves apart a bit on the course. Hartweg is currently 12th, Stadler comes back in 18th place.

14:25

Leitner continues to do well

Felix Leitner builds on his good shooting result from the sprint and keeps his clean sheet. As 29th he goes back to the track. Simon Eder also hits every target and made up a few places. David Komatz misses a target and Harald Lemmerer says goodbye with two penalties from the first attack.

14:23

Lots of shooting errors

How’s the prone shooting going for the Germans? Justus Strelow has a disc turned, Benedikt Doll also misses a second shot. That’s a lot of extra meters that won’t necessarily be good for the legs. Philipp Nawrath and Roman Rees are the only Germans to remain flawless. Johannes Kühn has to crank once, David Zobel has to round twice.

14:22

Followers stay tuned

What are the pursuers doing? Neither Emile Jaquelin nor Sturla Holm Lægreid show a weakness and kill all five targets. Filip Fjeld Andersen, on the other hand, has one penalty loop.

14:21

Perfect shooting from Bø

Meanwhile, Johannes Thingnes Bø has arrived at the first shooting. Lying down, it’s about turning five discs. Can he do it? And how! A hit goes quite far to the bottom right, but the disc still turns over. He leaves nothing to chance and is already gone when the pursuers enter the shooting range.

14:21

Strelow loses a place

Justus Strelow looks sluggish on the track again. The Norwegian Dale passed him. Yesterday’s relay race also showed that Strelow has to work even harder on the track.

14:19

All on the way

All 59 starters are now on the track. The Ukrainian Lesiuk was disqualified shortly before the start. In the meantime, the leader has already reached the first split after 1.1km. He immediately gained five seconds on the Frenchman, which shows that Johannes Thingnes Bø is not taking this race lightly, but is full of excitement.

14:17

First German on the way

It’s going for Justus Strelow, who wants to use his good starting position. He will mainly want to come through shooting, because that’s where his strengths lie.

14:15

Dinner is served!

The pursuit begins and Johannes Thingnes Bø sprints out of the start house. With a light wind and an air temperature of minus six degrees, nothing stands in the way of another great competition.

14:10

The pursuers and their chances

Who are the first pursuers? After Émilien Jacquelin, two more Norwegians are waiting to catch up. Sturla Holm Lægreid and Filip Fjeld Andersen are the only athletes remaining under a minute. The field behind Johannes Thingnes Bø is quite tight, but probably not much will go forward if Bø continues his performance from this weekend. He would have to catch a pitch-black day to give up his next World Cup victory.

14:03

Swiss duo with next surprise?

For the Swiss, all eyes will once again be on Niklas Hartweg, who caused a lot of euphoria at the start of the season. After his first podium finish in Finland, he continued to deliver solid performances. Together with Simon Stadler he will start the pursuit today. Only two seconds separate the two compatriots, who are sent into the race on 22nd and 23rd place. That leaves the two of them alone, because Joscha Burkhalter, Jeremy Finello and Laurin Fravi missed out on the top 60.

13:57

improvements should come

The ÖSV biathletes still fell short of their expectations in their home Hochfilzen. Despite shooting clean, Felix Leitner did not go beyond 29th place. He still became the best Austrian in the sprint. His gap to Johannes Thingnes Bø is two minutes and two seconds at the start. David Komatz (42nd), Harald Lemmerer (49th) and Simon Eder (51st) also want to make up places. Only Patrick Jakob has to watch today, because with rank 88 he clearly missed his pursuer. Only the top 60 athletes in the sprint race are allowed to compete again.

13:51

Team Germany wants more

Things didn’t go quite so smoothly for the German team in the sprint on Friday. With Justus Strelow, the first German in ninth place is on the hunt. At 1:15 minutes, the gap to the front is quite considerable. Benedikt Doll starts the competition as 14th. Philipp Nawrath and Roman Rees follow in positions 28 and 30. Rees showed a great race in yesterday’s relay in Hochfilzen and wants to carry this performance over to today. As the last starter of the DSV-Skijäger, David Zobel starts the race as 56th. He has to wait a little more than three minutes until he hears the starting gun.

13:46

Dominator and big favorite

After the women have already completed their relay race, the men will conclude this World Cup weekend with the pursuit race. The big favorite is the Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bø, who already won the sprint race on Friday. Also in yesterday’s relay, Bø passed the baton in third place with a more than decent lead and once again underlined his outstanding form. Johannes Thingnes Bø will open up the pursuer today and then won’t feel anyone behind him for a long time, because Émilien Jacquelin will only leave the starting gate in second place, 43 seconds after him.

Warm welcome

Hello and welcome to the 12.5km pursuit of the men from Hochfilzen! The live ticker starts in good time before the start of the Skijäger race.
