Biathlon live: Antholz 12.5km individual (women) in the live ticker | Jan 19, 2024 1:40 p.m

2:06 p.m

Wierer keeps the clean slate

Wierer can’t keep up on the cross-country ski trail yet, but things are better for her at the shooting range and she can keep her clean slate even after three shoots. The leading position is taken by Anastasiya Merkushyna, who also remains error-free for the third time.

2:05 p.m

Hettich-Walz at the forefront

Janina Hettich-Walz delivers a quick first shooting and is also involved for the time being! She ranks in fifth place. 16 of 36 athletes have so far remained clean in their first shooting.

2:03 p.m

Häcki-Groß stays there!

Lena Häcki-Groß is already one lap further and is completing her second shooting. As the third athlete in the field, she shoots zero twice and can easily take first place in the interim results again. At Hauser there was another mistake to complain about.

2:02 p.m

Tandrevold at the first shooting

It’s quick and easy at the shooting range! Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold came to her first shooting and shows that she has a lot planned again today! She hits all the targets and takes the lead by two seconds.

2:01 p.m

Merkushyna leads after the second shooting

Meanwhile, Anastasiya Merkushyna was able to take the lead again after the second shooting with five goals. For Baserga and Gandler, an additional 45 seconds are added after each error.

2:00 p.m

Voigt follows up

Vanessa Voigt follows up and all five targets also fall for the second German. They move on to the next round, 7.9 seconds behind.

13:59

Puff starts off strong

Johanna Puff is in Antholz for the first time, but there is no sign of nervousness at the shooting range. She hits the shots quickly and moves into a great fourth place.

13:58

Preuss gets started

It applies to Franziska Preuß! The German is one of the favorites today and narrowly missed out on winning the only singles event so far this year. Tamara Steiner from Austria started right in front of her. The next athlete from Switzerland will be Aita Gasparin.

13:58

Wierer keeps the zero

Dorothea Wierer has arrived at her second shooting and now with her accuracy she can take the lead for the time being. Elvira Öberg, on the other hand, has another window left standing. There is also a new leader in the first shooting: Anamarija Lampič was able to hit all five shots and is 4.3 seconds ahead of Häcki-Groß.

13:56

Schneider started

Sophia Schneider is the next German starter to take on the 12.5 kilometers. She too is probably aiming for a good result today after she achieved a good fifth place in the first individual of the season. Janina Hettich-Walz will also be able to get ready at the start soon; she will start her race 1:30 minutes after Schneider.

1:55 p.m

Häcki-Groß goes to the top

Just shortly after Hauser, Lena Häcki-Groß comes to her first of four shootings and the Swiss completes it bravely and quickly. She takes the top position with a lead of 13.3 seconds.

13:53

Difficult situation for Hauser

Lisa Theresa Hauser arrives at the shooting range just as the wind picks up again. How is she coping? Solid. One disc remains standing and it goes on to the next round as seventh. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold from Norway has also started and is now also one of the favorites.

13:52

The last shot misses

Anna Gandler from the ÖSV team started strong with the prone attack, but the last shot of all things no longer finds its target and she initially has to move further back. Amy Baserga from Switzerland also left a target.

13:51

First DSV starter

After Johanna Puff failed to make the cut for the pursuer in her first appearance in the World Cup in Lenzerheide, the young DSV athlete has the next chance to prove herself today. Immediately after her, Vanessa Voigt starts, who with good shooting statistics is certainly one of the extended favorites today.

13:49

How does Vittozzi get through?

The next favorite runs into the shooting range with Lisa Vittozzi. How does she get into the race? The first target goes right next to it, but then the cartridges hit the target. Vittozzi goes back on track in fourth position. The new leader is Anastasiya Merkushyna with five hits and 5.4 seconds ahead of Wierer.

13:49

Wierer remains error-free

The first athletes were already prone during the first shooting. Wierer came through with five goals, leading the interim rankings for the first time. Öberg left a target and got 45 seconds on top of that.

13:46

Vittozzi leads at the first time mark

At the first time mark, after 800 meters, Lisa Vittozzi is currently leading the rankings. When she returns, her teammate Wierer is already a good distance away with 13 seconds.

1:45 p.m

Baserga and Gandler in the race

The first athletes from Switzerland and Austria are now on the track with Amy Baserga and Anna Gandler. In a few minutes they will be followed by their respective teammates Lisa Theresa Hauser and Lena Häcki-Groß, who should be hoping for a good result today.

13:43

Vittozzi gets started

The next favorite took to the track with powerful stick pushes! The Italian Lisa Vittozzi is definitely one to watch again today with strong shooting performances and good running form!

1:40 p.m

Competition is on!

It’s ready and the individual over the 12.5 kilometers has begun. Joanna Jakiela from the Polish team is the first to take to the track. Elvira Öberg from Sweden will want to set the first benchmark after her. Directly behind her, Dorothea Wierer, who missed the last World Cups due to health reasons, goes onto the cross-country ski trail.

13:39

The conditions

Fog is not causing any problems in Antholz today and the sun is shining on the arena. The wind could cause problems for the athletes. It keeps blowing into the shooting range with strong gusts.

13:34

The favorites

At the top of the list of favorites today is certainly Lisa Vittozzi, who won the individual in Östersund, but was not entirely happy about the shortened distance of one of her favorite formats. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet are also likely to do something for today. Julia Simon and Elvira Öberg are certainly also worth paying attention to.

13:28

What’s going on for ÖSV athletes?

The Austrians can look back on less successful weeks and there have only been a few top successes so far this season. In the shortened individual, Tamara Steiner (36) could definitely make use of her shooting performance, but at the same time it would be difficult to get to the front due to the slow running times. The same applies to Dunja Zdouc (86). Anna Gandler (9), Lisa Theresa Hauser (13) and Anna Juppe (62) also still have room for improvement, but could use today’s competition to gain further self-confidence heading into the World Cup.

13:22

Four Swiss starters

The team from Switzerland travels to the World Cup in Italy with four athletes. Amy Baserga will take to the track as the eighth starter and will certainly want to attack her previous best performance in the individual. In Östersund she reached twelfth place at the start of the season. Lena Häcki-Groß follows with starting number 14. Aita Gasparin (38) and Elisa Gasparin (68) complete the clear team from Switzerland.

13:16

Series of failures in the DSV team

In the women’s category, Julia Tannheimer dropped out of the World Cup again after her good performances, as planned by the DSV, and will now focus on the Junior World Championships. Hanna Kebinger is no longer in the squad after health problems and will therefore also miss the World Cup. Selina Grotian was actually supposed to take over one of the two starting positions, but she is now also out for a short time due to gastrointestinal problems. For Grotian, it was a failure at a bad time, as Antholz would have been the last stop where she could have broken her World Cup standard. Back in the team is Johanna Puff (23), who could definitely jump on the World Cup bandwagon with good performances. Sophia Schneider (30), Janina Hettich-Walz (33), Vanessa Voigt (24) and team leader Franziska Preuß (37), who can once again hope for a top place, have already met the DSV’s World Cup nomination standard.

13:10

Women are in demand

The Biathlon World Cup in Antholz continues today with the shortened women’s individual race over the 12.5 kilometers. In addition to the shorter running distance, there are also different regulations at the shooting range. In shortened singles, each missed shot is penalized by 45 seconds. The first starter will take to the track at 1:40 p.m.
