Third success of the season for the 25-year-old from Trentino. Eighth Hofer
Big shot by Tommaso Giacomel in the 10 km sprint in Oberhof, Germany. The Italian biathlon athlete beat the German Philipp Nawrath and the Norwegian Johannes Dale-Skjevdal and crossed the finish line pointing his finger towards the sky in homage to the Norwegian biathlete Sivert Bakken, found dead in his hotel room in Italy on 23 December. It is the third success of the season for the 25-year-old from Trentino after the sprint in Hochfilzen and the mass start in Annecy.

Giacomel completes the race with just one error on the ground (1-0), legitimizing the success with a solid performance on skis and an excellent standing shooting session that allows him to take off: 25’01″7 his time with a margin of 13″2 over the German Philipp Nawrath (0-1) and 25″2 over the Norwegian Johannes Dale Skjevdal (1-0) who completes the podium. Eighth place for Lukas Hofer (43″5 behind Giacomel). An order of arrival that will be reflected in the start of the pursuit on Saturday, an interesting springboard for Giacomel.
