Betting tip: Alivoima’s special teams face off in Lappeenranta

SaiPa and TPS have each conceded only one overtime goal this season.

SaiPa meets TPS. Vesa Pöppönen / AOP

The most interesting game of the day

From a betting point of view, the most interesting league match of the evening will be played in Lappeenranta.

SaiPa and TPS play hockey with few goals, visually assessed. The statistics of the number of goals in the series confirm this; In SaiPa’s matches, only 3.67 goals per game have been scored on average – the figure is clearly the lowest in the League.

The goal average of 5.0 goals per game in TPS matches is the sixth lowest in the series. The goal average for the entire League is currently set at 5.12 goals per match.

SaiPa and TPS’ low goals are due to the way they play and, especially in the case of SaiPa, purely also the lack of goal-scoring power.

Worthy of special attention in the lack of goals for both is the fact that both SaiPa and TPS have succeeded almost perfectly in playing underpowered in the early season. So far, only one overtime goal has been scored for both of them! SaiPa has played underpowered so far for 37 minutes (av-% 95.24%) and TPS for a good 21 minutes (91.67%). In the statistics of the series, SaiPan yv is the best and TPS is the third best.

Along with well-organized field defense, the role of the goalkeeper also plays a decisive role. Here again, both SaiPa and TPS belong to the very elite of the League, because SaiPa Niclas Westerholm is third in the save statistics of goalkeepers in the series with a save percentage of 92.86% and TPS Lassi Lehtinen second with a reading of 93.43%. Both top guards are on defense duty today.

When, in addition to the great underpowered play of the teams, it is also taken into account that neither SaiPa nor TPS have convinced with superiority (SaiPa is 8th in the league statistics for yv with a reading of 18.18% and TPS 9th with a reading of 17.66%), we can from this mutual from the struggle, it is quite reasonable to expect a few goals.

Veikkaus’ offer of 1.85 for less than 4.5 goals in regular time is not quite a multiplier, but almost certainly the best bet of the game. SaiPa–TPS starts at 18:30.

The best betting tip of the day

For Friday’s best long-haul pick, I’ll pick up quite a lottery ticket from Mestis. Last season’s Latvian champion HK Zemgale, who will participate in Mesti this season, is still a big mystery for both bookmakers and bettors at this stage.

Success in the Latvian league doesn’t say anything yet, because last season, for example, Dinamo Riga was still playing in the KHL. You can get a small indication of the team’s strength by looking at the former clubs and league levels of its players.

Although the vast majority of HK Zemgale’s players are quite young, many of them still have at least some experience in the MHL or the Swedish third level Hockey Ettan. The basic level of the players can therefore be considered at least somewhat similar.

Perhaps even better, HK Zemgale’s level can be put into perspective by the fact that in the Latvian league, the team played an even match at the beginning of September against Dinamo Riga, who moved to the league. Of course, Dinamo is no longer KHL-Dinamo, but many of its players still have at least some MHL background. With this information, I would dare to raise HK Zemgale to at least the level of Peliitto, the weakest Finnish team in Mestis.

Regarding the coaching of HK Zemgale, it is worth noting that the staff is very experienced and respected Artis Abols. Abols has almost twenty years of experience either as head coach or assistant coach in KHL teams and in the Latvian national team. Among the individual players, Zemgale’s most important link is the goalkeeper who also played in the Latvian national team Eriks Vitols.

I believe that Zemgale will come to this match with his best possible crew, because for the team and the club this is quite a place to show that they have earned their place in Mestis.

At least in their own series, Zemgale has recently been able to practice scoring, with the goal balance of the previous seven games being 51–5 in their favor. I don’t claim Zemgale’s 1.68 offer as a sure multiplier, but at least I play it a little myself. Also the promised 1.95 for over 6.0 goals seems like an interesting odds. The third possible Mestis bid is the 1.80 odds offered for the over 6.0 goals in the KeuPa HT–KOOVEE match.

Mesti’s matches start at 18:30.

Already at the beginning of the week, Luton, who was hinted up to the tag, seems to have been a good search based on the coefficient changes. Luton’s +0 coefficient has dropped from 1.84 to 1.73 since Wednesday, and Luton’s over 1.5 goals from 2.62 to 2.46. Let’s keep them, but with the new odds, Luton is no longer worth touching.

Games of the day: HK Zemgale–Peliitat 1 (coefficient 1.68) and KeuPa HT–KOOVEE, over 6.0 goals (coefficient 1.80).

The total balance of the day’s games for the year: 44/76/107%
