Betterov releases new song “Jil Sander Sun”

Today the new single “Jil Sander Sun” by Betterov was released. The song, named after Jil Sander’s perfume of the same name, is about a traumatic event in the past of the 29-year-old maladjusted singer.

Musically, the solo artist cannot be assigned to any particular genre. He moves somewhere between postpunk, indie, pop and rock. But there is always a certain amount of melancholy in Betterov. So also with his new song.

“Jil Sander Sun” tells the story of one night and its aftermath. With the song, the musician faces his past and the associated sadness of his former homeland. Here, the scent serves as a trigger that revives the memory of a traumatizing incident. That’s what the play is about.

Betterov focuses on a night in which a brutal fight breaks out out of the blue. Images were created that will stay with you forever, that are inseparably linked to the perfume of the same name and that reappear as soon as you encounter this striking fragrance in everyday life. It’s a song about peer pressure, nightlife and sheer violence.

Betterov’s real name is Manuel Bittorf and he is originally from Thuringia. In addition to his role as a singer, he also plays the piano, violin and guitar.

At the beginning of his career, the Berliner-by-choice appeared in the opening act for the Kaiser Chiefs. In summer 2022 he finally accompanied The Gaslight Anthem on their tour through Germany and Great Britain. In the same year Betterov’s first studio album “Olympia” was released.

This summer Betterov is among others live at the Hurricane and Southside festivals as well as at the Tauber Valley Festival to see. In autumn he goes on his next headlining tour through German clubs.
