On Saturday, TPS will try to make up for the 0-4 home loss they suffered a week ago to EV Zug in the CHL.

The most interesting game of the day
Last season’s finalist and silver team in the league, TPS was fundamentally emptied of its top players in the summer transfer market, when no less than eight of the team’s 12 best scorers left the group. When we add to this the one that blossomed in the playoffs by Juraj Slafkovský exit (and possibly also Mikael Pyyhtien moving to the NHL) so the Palloseura’s quiet start to this season in the CHL has not been a real miracle. In their opening match, TPS beat the Slovenian HK Olimpija 3–2 in a sweat at home, but in the next match they were inexplicably beaten 0–4 by the Swiss EV Zug at the Gatorade Center. The result was fully deserved, as Zug won the shots 32–16 and the goal score 2.9–1.4.
In their third CHL match away against HK Olimpija, TPS had made a somewhat surprising acquisition for the forward department, when the old warhorse Kai Kantola had joined the team from Black Wings Linz playing in the ICEHL. Kantola naturally struck immediately in his opening match with 1+2 performances, being the best player in TPS. In his previous league seasons, Kantola was close to the forty power point mark in KalPa, so with good coaching, the 34-year-old puck player might be a suitable addition to TPS’s currently somewhat anemic offensive department.
Thinking about the Zug match, TPS will now field a slightly stronger crew than the teams’ first meeting in Turku. Along with Kantola, who moved from Luko to Palloseura in the summer will join the chains Arttu Ilomäki. The encounter is important for both teams, even though Zug has won all of their first three matches, so there is no need to draw motivational factors separately for this; both play for sure seriously. While TPS has weakened during the summer, last season’s Swiss champion and regular season winner Zug can be counted as even stronger in the transfer market. Practically no players left Zug in the summer and the additions have come hard in the attacking department by Brian O’Neill and Peter Cehlar too in terms of. The defense was strengthened by the Hershey Bears from the AHL With Tobias Geisser. The team is the number one favorite to win the National League this season. Also in the CHL, EV Zug is one of the hottest championship candidates right after the Swedish teams.
Whereas TPS’s only tougher display from these CHL matches is the last 2-4 away win against Olimpija (shots and goal percentage for Turku 42–20 and 4.4–1.9), Zug has been convincing in each of the three matches they have played. 4–0, 5–2 and 4–3 victories have also been secured by shots and goalscoring victories over the opponents. In addition to TPS, Wolfsburg has been under the spell of Zug twice with a combined shots of 92–45 and a goal score of 9.0–5.0. Zug also traditionally enjoys the big home advantage of Swiss teams. All numerical facts speak for the home team in the Zug–TPS match. However, it is worth noting about TPS that the coach Jussi Ahokkan the team is at its best when it gets to play underdog hockey with defensive victories. Zug, who are probably over-attacking at home in terms of gameplay, are therefore in principle a good fit for Palloseura.
EV Zug–TPS starts at 20:45.
The best betting tip of the day
In terms of betting, the 1.81 multiplier of the actual playing time of the home team in the EV Zug–TPS match looks very good at first glance, but here it is worth packing a little in the estimates precisely because, in terms of the game, it might be easier for TPS to play away from home against a team like Zug. However, my final estimate for Zug’s 60-minute win is 56 percent, and the offer is such a meager multiplier.
Games of the day: EV Zug–TPS 1 (odds 1.81).
