Beşiktaş’s successful football player Ghezzal shared a post about Israel’s attack in Gaza on his social media account. The Algerian football player included the following sentences in his post:
“Defending the human rights of Palestinians does not mean that you are pro-Hamas. Free Palestine does not mean that you are anti-Semitic or that you ‘want all Jews to go’. Free Palestine means that Palestinians are free from the Israeli occupation that has deprived them of basic human rights for 75 years.”
Free Palestine means no more caging of 2.3 million Palestinians, half of whom are children, in the world’s largest open-air prison. Free Palestine means the end of the ‘apartheid’ approach imposed by the Israeli government. “Free Palestine means giving Palestinians control of the basic infrastructure in their land.”
