Beşiktaş President Ahmet Nur Çebi held a press conference with Önder Karaveli and Ceyhun Kazancı at Vodafone Park. Coach Önder Karaveli, who made statements, also spoke about Sergen Yalçın.

After hearing the news of Ahmet Çalık, I called my teacher İlhan. My teacher couldn’t pick up the phone, I was happy that he couldn’t because I didn’t know what to say. We talked in the evening, I said the same. I have been following Ahmet Çalık since the youth national teams. I wish patience to his family. I can’t say too much because this subject takes me to a different place as I talk.

Mine is Turkish football, a life dedicated to Turkish youth. I will never give up on this. I have a life dedicated to Beşiktaş, which first gave me the chance to become a football player and then a coach. What got me this way is the equity layout.
“HE BELIEVED IN US, HE TRUSTED”
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Sergen is the coach of Beşiktaş U19 team. He believed in us, he trusted us. As long as he was on duty, he was extremely helpful and supportive in every way. I thank him once again.
EMIRHAN ILKHAN WORDS
What we did about Emirhan İlkhan was to believe in what he could do. I’m saying the opposite, what if Emirhan had a bad performance? My trust in him would not change. I am saying this for all our youth, especially Emirhan. What I do is trust Emirhan İlkhan. I trust not only the youth of Beşiktaş, but also the youth of Turkey. The least effort on Emirhan belongs to me. I have been working with him for 5 months. The work of the coaches who have worked with him for so many years is greater.

Young players will make mistakes, they will make mistakes in every field. I’ve been making mistakes for 47 years too. But I say to my players, ‘Don’t make the same mistake twice, make new mistakes.

Since the day this task was given to me, I haven’t thought for a moment about what will happen tomorrow. Not once did I think about what would happen if we won this match, what would happen if we lost. What was entrusted to me was going to push me hard because something I loved so much was entrusted to me.
