Beşiktaş defeated Kangoeroes Mechelen 93-79 in the 5th week of FIBA Women’s European Cup Group E.
Kangoeroes Mechelen closed the gap with Strautmane’s points against Beşiktaş, which started the fight with consecutive baskets, and brought the score to 12-12 in the 5th minute. The black-white team, which regained the advantage with Evans’ points, fell behind 21-20 with 2.5 minutes left when they could not block the three-point field goal by Resimont, but ended the first quarter ahead 25-22.
The Belgian team gained a 6-0 streak in the second period, which started with mutual points, and dominated the black-whites. Beşiktaş managed to reach a 10-point lead once again in the last quarter by making the score 78-68, and broke the resistance of its opponent. Leading 90-75 in the last minute, the black-white team won the match 93-79.
While Beşiktaş got its 4th victory with this score, Kangoeroes Mechelen suffered its 2nd defeat.
Beşiktaş will face Greek representative Panathinaikos on November 29 in the 6th week match.
