Beselare’s old municipal school makes way for a leisure center

There are currently three associations in the old municipal school, including Chiro Beselare. But after the renovation, there will also be room for, among other things, the choir and the playground.

Energy efficient

The municipal council wants to make it an energy-efficient building with better insulation and solar panels. “The old boys’ school is being completely renovated and will accommodate various associations. There will also be a piece of new construction that will accommodate the music academy and we will integrate part of the garden of the house next door into the site. This way we also have some more green,” says Alderman of Youth, Koen Meersseman.

The renovations will cost just under 2 million euros. The goal is to complete the project by the summer of 2023.
