‘I was surprised by that’
ROSES – Kiki Bertens and Richard Krajicek are deeply impressed by Roland Garros winner Iga Swiatek. The 21-year-old Polish beat the American Coco Gauff with great force majeure in the final: 6-1, 6-3. That meant her second title at Roland Garros. “It’s bizarre that she’s so dominant now. She stands out far above it,” says Bertens in Rosmalen, where a planned farewell to the best Dutch tennis player ever literally fell into the water.
