Bert van Leeuwen believes that celebrities such as Chantal Janzen have reacted very cheaply to Jeroen Snel’s statements about Countess Eloise. “That is apparently good for its own publicity.”
You never hear the celebrities talk about the really hot issues, but if they can make a statement about something that everyone agrees with, they are suddenly quick to make a very solid point. ‘How good of you to say this, absolutely right!’, is the hoped-for reaction of their supporters.
Bert dead tired
It happened last month to Jeroen Snel, who thinks that Countess Eloise is endangering the reputation of the royal family by participating in all kinds of TV programs and even appearing in a bathing suit. Plausible criticism, but the celebrities pretended that Jeroen had issued some kind of bathing suit ban. They went for easy scoring.
Types such as Chantal Janzen, Britt Dekker and Jan Versteegh immediately posed in a bathing suit to show that they can really find a bathing suit in 2023, also with Countess Eloise. Very nice, they also had their moment. But Het Familiediner star Bert van Leeuwen is tired of it.
cry along
Bert doesn’t like this kind of celebrities. “We live in an era in which statements come under a magnifying glass and the well-known Netherlands then howls with the wolves. I saw several artists in bathing suits protesting on Twitter; apparently that’s how we are wired as people.”
The Chantals, Britts and Jans of this world score over Jeroen’s back, says Bert. He continues in New Rev: “Such actions are apparently good for one’s own publicity.”
Swimsuit criticism
What does Bert himself think of the bathing suit criticism? “What do I think of his comment about Eloise van Oranje’s bathing suit? I don’t think it’s wise to comment on that now.”
He concludes: “I refrain from commenting, except for the note that Jeroen’s comment about Eloise has not been bad for his brand awareness in recent weeks. Everyone now knows who Jeroen Snel is, haha.”
