Bert Bouwer leaves handball players Aalsmeer; Wai Wong moves on

Bert Bouwer stops as trainer of Aalsmeer after six years. The 71-year-old Bouwer, who won the national championship four times with the North Holland team, will be succeeded by his assistant Wai Wong after this season.

“It was a great time and I can confidently hand over the baton to Wai Wong. I will now continue to enjoy it with my dear Alma and the three daughters and two grandchildren, whom I can now see more often,” said Bouwer in a first response in it AD.

Bouwer indicates that he does not want to let go of the club completely. “I don’t want to make those long bus trips anymore, come home late at night from the matches and the training sessions. I really want to support the club at normal times and help further.”

Bouwer is still active in the HandbalNL League with Aalsmeer. After two games played, Aalsmeer shares the lead with Hurry-Up. On Saturday, Bouwer’s team will play a home game against Tachos.
