Bernal on retreat with his teammates from Tuesday. Return on August 2nd?

There is good news for Egan Bernal, who is recovering quickly (more than expected for sure) after the terrible training accident in Colombia on January 24 in which he risked his life. For the first time, from Tuesday he had the go-ahead to train with the teammates of Ineos-Grenadiers: from 5 to 25 July, the winner of the Giro d’Italia 2021, and of the Tour 2019, will be in retreat on the high ground at Andorra together with a part of the group that will work for the Vuelta di Spagna (from 19 August): De Plus, Sivakov, Rodriguez, Hayter. As for Bernal, towards the middle of the month the moment of his competitive return will be clearer: a hypothesis on the table, perhaps the most probable at this moment, leads to the Vuelta Burgos from 2 to 6 August. And we will see later whether Bernal, followed by Basque coach Xabier Artexte, can also compete at the Vuelta in Spain.

Market Meanwhile, again on the Ineos-Grenadiers front, there is an exit market movement which is still lacking official status but is considered in practice defined by several sources: Richard Carapaz, 2019 pink jersey (and second in the Giro 2022), is at the start and is destined to wear the colors of the American team Ef-EasyPost in 2023.
