The ChristenUnie has chosen party leader Bernadette van den Berg as the party leader for the Provincial Council elections in March next year.
According to the candidates committee, in Van den Berg the party has ‘an experienced politician who can convey the social-Christian sound of the party with conviction’.
In second place is Gerben Brandsema from Meppel, who until recently was party leader in the city of Groningen. Place 3 is occupied by Karolien Pouwels from Hollandscheveld. She was previously a councilor for the Christian Union in Leusden. Current deputy Tjisse Stelpstra is at number 27 on the list. He has indicated that he is available again as a deputy.
The faction of the ChristenUnie now has three seats in the Drenthe Parliament.
