The Berluti fashion house, part of the French luxury goods group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), has received a prestigious order. The brand announced on Thursday that it will supply French athletes’ outfits for the opening ceremonies of next year’s Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
The background to the decision is the comprehensive cooperation between LVMH and the event organizing committee agreed in July. “Following the announcement of our partnership with Paris 2024 in July, I am pleased to announce the role that Berluti will play alongside fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton and Dior,” said Berluti CEO Antoine Arnault in a statement. “Our goal is to combine elegance and functionality at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games ‘Paris 2024’.”
The clothing company, founded in 1895, wanted to use its designs to ensure that the French teams “can be proud ambassadors of their country and represent the French elegance and traditional savoir-faire of the fashion house,” said Arnault.
Berluti is now developing the outfits for the opening ceremonies “in close collaboration with teams led by Marie-Amélie Le Fur, President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee, David Lappartient, President of the French Olympic and Sports Committee, and Tony Estanguet, the Presidents of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee,” the fashion house said.
