Berlin’s favorite chick is thriving!

“We are happy that the little king penguin is developing so well,” said a spokeswoman from Berlin Zoo to the BZ

Actually! The chick has obviously become heavier and will soon no longer fit under the folds of its parents’ stomach. It can now even stand on its own.

The zookeepers don’t yet know the sex of the 33-day-old chick – but they do know the mother. “We thought it was Carina at first, but it’s Umber.” A classic mix-up.

Even if they all always wear the same tailcoat!
