On the eleventh matchday of the European League of Football, Berlin Thunder saved the chance to reach the playoff semi-finals.
With a 29:12 (20:6) against the Wroclaw Panthers, the team of head coach Johnny Schmuck got their sixth victory and can hope to reach the semi-finals as the best runner-up of the three groups of four. The strongest competitor are the Raiders from Tyrol, who have also achieved six victories so far. Both teams meet on the last day of the game.
Accordingly motivated Thunder went into the encounter. The guests from Berlin dominated the game in Wroclaw from the start and deservedly led 20:6 at half-time. Only in the second half did the home side come into play better, but could no longer prevent Thunder’s success.
As so often, Berlin’s playmaker Joe Germinerio was a valuable guarantee of success. The quarterback threw two touchdown passes.
