There’s a lot of sneezing going on in the capital right now. But quite a few Berliners are happily spraying around. A comment from BZ editor Sabine Klier.

Your nose is tickling, your eyes are watering: if you feel the same as me, then you are one of the 500,000 affected Berliners who suffer from hay fever.

I can hardly believe the number, because all around me people are sneezing as if itching powder had fallen from the sky. I don’t blame the flowering plants, they can’t help themselves.

But many a Berliner snorts his Hatschi out loud and above all his spray fountain into the crowd.

Just because someone is allergic to pollen doesn’t mean they should forget good manners.
