Berlin sex worker ripped off and beaten at the rent

By Anne Losensky

Hardly rented, already ripped off: After moving into an apartment in Wilmersdorf, a sex worker is suddenly supposed to pay 5000 euros instead of the agreed 1850 euros rent.

When she refused, the landlord struck, she says – and eventually even asked her to pay 10,000 euros in rent.

District Court, room 537. The landlord in the dock: Amer M. (31) from Syria. By profession “soldier”, he says. Arrested February 1, 2023, has been behind bars ever since.

The charge: predatory extortion and dangerous bodily harm in December 2022. He is silent about it. What interests him are his luxury watches: “Why were two Rolexes taken away from me? I really want them back!”

Sitting in the witness chair: Nguyen S. (48). As a profession, the Vietnamese gives “erotic masseuse”. In December 2022, she rented the apartment on Bayerische Strasse from the accused. “In order to offer sexual services and massages there on a commercial basis,” says the indictment. “I gave him the agreed rent in cash,” says the elegant woman in the Chanel blouse.

At first he was nice. But then he began to regularly sleep in the apartment against her will. “He hit me and demanded 5,000 euros if I wanted to stay,” she says. “Otherwise he’ll make sure I leave Germany and my family dies.”

According to the indictment, there were punches in the face and a blow with the butt of a pistol. The demand had been increased to 10,000 euros, the witness said. But she didn’t agree to it. Today she lives in Saxony-Anhalt. Judgment on August 3rd.
