BZ editor Stefan Peter believes that if the integration commissioner continues to stick to an Afghanistan decision by 2021, this could cause plenty of conflict in the capital. his comment.

In the cargo bike neighborhoods, a possible development on the outskirts of Tempelhofer Feld is considered to be the topic with the greatest potential for conflict. But anyone who asks around outside the left-green bubble knows what really moves many Berliners: the unchecked influx of refugees.

The solidarity of the Berliners is huge, but the space in the capital is finite. District politicians no longer know where to put all the people. How they should ensure medical care, such as attending daycare or school. The social senator herself wanted to ask other federal states to take refugees from Berlin.

But the integration officer (who came into office under a left-wing senator) is sticking to a decision by 2021. At the time, Berlin agreed to take in 500 Afghans – an understandable, humanitarian decision given the fall of Kabul to the Taliban.

If the two-year-old decision is actually implemented, serious trouble threatens not only black and red.
